  3. Need storage?—A coffee table is a great way to get an extra means of storage in a cluttered space. Some rustic coffee tables such as the Junipine Wood Coffee Table with Drawer come with drawers underneath to tuck things away. Baby toys, magazines, whatever!

Remember, not all rustic coffee tables are created equally. Get over to Rustic Furniture Pro’s website and take a look at their selection to find the right one for you and your living room.

One way to adorn your home with rustic home furnishings is to strategically place rustic furniture in the rooms. They exude a warm, comfortable feeling that you, your family and visitors will certainly enjoy.

Here are eight pieces of rustic furniture that can enhance the décor of your home:

  • The Cheyenne Wall Table sets a room’s mood. It’s made of recycled teakwood, featuring a genuine half wagon wheel. Surely it could tell some fancy tales if it could talk. But the conversations it will inspire can fill the air instead.
  • For your western styled home, the Junipine Glass Top Coffee Table is made from a real wagon wheel. Visible through its clear glass top, it adds a touch of the Old West to a room, very easily creating the ambiance other furniture and ornaments can merely hint at.
  • The Bardean Dining Table comes in sizes to fit either six or eight people. Each one is handcrafted in a rectangular shape from recycled barn teakwood.
  • Complimenting the Bardean Table above, several Blacksmith Chairs are just what the wagon master ordered. Made from recycled plow handles and wagon wheel spokes, they show off a rustic table, maintaining that western feel to your home.
  • Little cow punchers will enjoy the Wagon Wheel Bunk Beds Twin Size. The rustic feeling of your home can extend into your children’s bedroom with these bunks made from recycled wagon wheels.
  • For the master suite, consider a Cabazon Bed. This King Size bed is made from rugged, recycled teak fence post from the days of yore. You can immerse yourself in history when you rest at night in this bed.
  • The Bardean Back Bench comes in a variety of sizes, thereby able to fit most needs. Although different in length, they share in common the recycled teak wood and ox yoke that’s incorporated into each piece.
  • There’s no reason why western décor needs to be confined to the indoors. The Lazy Laramie Swing looks great on your front or back porch, or even out in the garden. It’s made of recycled teak wood and built to take the ravages if the weather.

Rustic furniture can add beauty and warmth to any home. To complete the look and feel you are trying to portray, consider chests, book cases and a foot stool, as well. For instance, the Dawson Four or Six Drawer Chest provides additional storage space while enhancing the look and feel you strove to present. It’s handcrafted and made of recycled teakwood. Each drawer retains the natural wood appearance that’s so pleasing to the eye.

Instead of shelves on a wall, enhance your décor with the Lone Prairie Bookcase. Old teak fence post holders create a unique flair, as their uneven tops preserve a rustic ambiance. And to wind things up, the Axel Foot Stool, made from old teak log and reclaimed wagon wheel hub, will let you prop your feet up at the end of a hard day…while maintaining a western flair at the same time.

Enhance your home with rustic furniture and rustic home furnishings.

Rustic Furniture Pro's Bluffdale Table

It doesn’t take too much to preserve an environment. One of the ways to make sure that you maintain a pleasant atmosphere is to intersperse rustic chairs and rustic coffee tables around your home. These are sure fire ways to keep the mood in your rooms.

The Bluffdale table immediately adds a spark of the Old West to your living room. Hand crafted from recycled wood, it creates an ambiance unmistakably related to that period because it’s constructed of an authentic wagon wheel. A true conversation piece, the spokes are inlayed with old teak planks. Running your hands over its textured finish put you in contact with an era known for its slightly untamed nature. Four people can sit around this masterpiece that also boasts a shelf underneath for storage. Need it for outdoor use on your porch? No problem, as it’s been designed for either your indoor or outdoor pleasure.

Another table that makes use of old wheels that once transported wagons out West is the Junipine Wood Top Coffee Table with Drawer. You, your family and guests can enjoy a cup of java or even a meal on its top with discernable spokes interlaid with old, recycled teak. The drawer underneath is sturdy and can store your magazines, odds and ends or whatever you desire. Reminisce about the days of yesteryear as you relax around your table in the comfort of your home.

Rustic coffee tables come in all sizes and shapes. Perhaps best exemplifying this statement is the truly one of a kind Root Coffee Table. Made by hand from recycled teak wood, this work of art looks the part it’s meant to portray. A large, gnarled tree root supports a flat table top that you can sit around, savoring a beverage or having a bite to eat. If you opt to leave it outside, don’t worry if it starts to rain because it’s made for outdoor use, also.

When you kick back around your coffee table, you’ll need a place to sit. Preserving the ambiance that the table makes in your home are rustic chairs. There are a wide variety of items you can choose from in this category. For instance, the Cattleman’s Chair simply exudes a rustic feeling. It’s hand made by attaching old, weathered teak planks to the back and seat of the chair frame. This gives the chair the well deserved and very appropriate reputation that it’s seen a great bit of the outdoors. But don’t let the quaint, rustic look fool you; each of these chairs are newly constructed and can stand up to regular wear and tear.

The lattice work back of the Summit chair informs you immediately that this is an unusual piece of furniture. Assembled with recycled teak wood, its strong legs and sturdy seat are testaments to its durability.

For the home owner that wants to present a feeling of the Old West to friends and family, using rustic chairs and rustic coffee tables can only enhance whatever other decor you might employ.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and New Years and were able to step away from work and relax and enjoy the company of family and friends. I took a bit of time off myself and unfortunately got hit with major allergies. So most of my time was spent in bed with the sniffles but at least I got to relax a lot. Movies quickly became my best friend!

I thought it would be fun to look back over 2010 and see what pieces were popular over the past year! It is always fun to look back and see the trends from the past year. So, let’s get started and see what pieces caught your eye in 2010!

Rim Side End Table

This is a wonderful airy side table that is quite popular. It has the perfect touch of rustic for those of you who are looking for accent pieces but not anything overly rugged. This rustic end table can be used indoors or outdoors on the back porch. It looks perfect beside a sofa or cozy chair.

Frontier End Table

Another one of our popular side tables from 2010 was the Frontier End Table. This is a highly rugged end table perfect for a log cabin or western ranch. I thought it was interesting how both the Rim Side End Table and Frontier End Table were popular because they are opposites of each other. So, you can see we get a mix of shoppers just like you with some looking for highly rustic furniture, and others looking for just a hint of rustic.  Rustic Furniture Pro is a great place to search for your rustic needs because of the wide variety offered.

Relax & Unwind

What pops into your head when you think of a rustic coffee table? I’ll bet you think of a coffee table in a beautifully decorated room complete with coasters, a few books and maybe a bowl of candies. It seems like no one thinks of coffee, and that’s what they are named after!

In the 1600’s, coffee and coffee houses grew in popularity in London. They were the hangouts of scholars, merchants, politicians and businessmen. Naturally, people needed a place to set their cups of coffee and thus, coffee tables were invented. (I took about 100 years of history and condensed into one sentence – forgive me!)

I enjoy getting to the history behind the furniture pieces that have become commonplace in the home. For me, no piece of furniture is commonplace, especially here at Rustic Furniture Pro. Our rustic coffee tables hearken back to simpler times. They are warm and welcoming, often beckoning people to sit around them and share a cup of Joe. Rustic coffee tables are a great edition to any home – my sister recently got a rustic coffee table and she loves it! It adds so much warmth to her living area.

Since coffee tables were originally used for COFFEE, I figured I would use this blog to get on my coffee soapbox. I love coffee. It gets me up in the morning and keeps my happy throughout the day. I like sweet coffees, Greek coffee (which is thick and almost granular), Spanish coffee (café con leche)… you get the idea here. I love it! With fall here, I would feel remiss if I left out my favorite seasonal coffee… enter Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. Talk about yummy. Everything great about fall is in this drink.

If I am going to grace my coffee table with a drink – choose the Pumpkin Spice Latte. You and your rustic coffee table won’t be disappointed.

*Picture thanks to Nicole.

I was sitting on my couch this morning drinking my vanilla flavored coffee with my legs propped up on my coffee table. Things I noticed: four neatly piled stacks of unread mail, a few coupon clippings which I will likely never use, one bright pink bottle of nail polish, and three remotes used only by my husband.

It’s embarrassing to say the least. I don’t know about you, but the coffee table can easily become the junk table if you aren’t careful. After looking at mine this morning, I figured a blog was in order about coffee tables and how to keep them clutter-free.

At Rustic Furniture Pro, our rustic coffee tables are sturdy – you can certainly prop your legs up! They are water resistant, meaning that you can say goodbye to those pesky water rings. And they are beautiful, which leads me to my first tip about keeping your coffee table clutter-free. Buy a coffee table you WANT to show-off. If you love the way it looks, you will automatically want to keep it clear so you can enjoy its beauty.

Next, every coffee table needs a few cute coasters (even though the teak does not need to be protected – they are still fun to have!). I personally like seasonal coasters. It is an easy way to add the spirit of the season to your home without breaking your wallet.

Also, your rustic coffee table should have a focal point – and it shouldn’t be the mail! My older sister keeps a beautiful vase of flowers on her rustic teak table. And you want to know the trick? They’re fake! She has a lot going on as a wife, mom, and full-time designer. So she cuts corners by heading to find the perfect fake arrangement each season.

Finally, if we are talking rustic coffee tables, we have to talk coffee table books. My mom always keeps books about flowers on her coffee table. They are enjoyable to thumb-through and make sense for her lifestyle, after all, she is a florist. My advice: pick coffee table books that represent WHO YOU ARE. If you’re a cowboy, pick a photo book about rodeos. If you’re a dog lover, have a book about dogs. Let your personality shine on your coffee table.

Now, I am off to take my own advice, clean up my rustic coffee table and add a little personality to my room!
